Founding Years (1958 – Episkopi)

Oscar Rent A Car was founded in 1958 in Episkopi by Erdem Oskar, marking the very first investment of what would later become the Oscar Group of Companies. At the time, the business began with a single rental vehicle — a bold entrepreneurial step that laid the foundation for one of Cyprus’s most influential corporate success stories.

Relocation to Kyrenia (Girne)

Following its initial growth, Oscar Rent A Car relocated from Episkopi to Kyrenia (Girne) in Northern Cyprus. This strategic move positioned the company at the heart of the island’s tourism and transportation hub, enabling rapid expansion and stronger brand recognition.

Growth & Expansion (1970s–1990s)

Throughout the following decades, Oscar Rent A Car steadily expanded its fleet and service network. The company became known for its reliability, customer‑focused service, and strong technical infrastructure — qualities that helped it become one of the most trusted car rental providers on the island.
